As we age, our vision may begin to become less-than-perfect. Age-Related Macular Degeneration (also known as AMD) is a condition that affects up to 33% of all older as we age, causing significant vision loss. My Story

I watched my mother suffer with the effects of macular degeneration, and because I was also at risk, I was determined that I would do everything I could to take care of my eyes. I tried other vitamin supplements but they were to hard to swallow, or you had to take up to 4 of them per day. And they were so expensive! Then I found Lipotriad. I know my eyes need Lutein and Lipotriad gives it to me. Oh... and it's a whole lot easier to swallow than other supplements! Now, mom and I both take our Lipotriad.

Lipotriad contains key ingredients that the National Institute of Health, through its Age Related Disease Study (AREDS), has found to be important in maintaining eye health: Vitamins A, C and E (all antioxidants) and the minerals zinc and copper.

Lutein (as an antioxidant) has been shown to significantly improve eye health by reducing the risk of advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and its associated vision loss.

However, Lutein is not produced by the human body, and so its accumulation in the eye is dependent on dietary intake, such as daily doses of the Lipotriad vitamin. Zinc is an important mineral found in high concentrations in healthy eyes. Lipotriad has zinc in its formula to assist in keeping the eye healthy. Additionally, the National Institute of Health, through the Age Related Disease Study, indicated that the antioxidant vitamins C, E and A are also helpful to maintaining eye health. Lipotriad has these key ingredients in its formulation.

As we age, the macula degenerates. Macular Degeneration is a hereditary and progressive eye disease that is found in people over the age of 50. In fact, Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in people over the age of 50. Moreover, one person in six between the ages of 55 and 64 will get macular degeneration; one person in four between the ages of 65 and 74 will get macular degeneration, and one in three people over the age of 75 will get macular degeneration. Recent research also indicates that Lutein and Zeaxanthin can potentially help prevent cataracts. Researchers analyzed dietary information from almost 36,000 women in the Women’s Health Study. Those women who took Lutein and Zeaxanthin were 18% less likely to develop cataracts than those who did not. Lipotriad has both these ingredients in its formulation, and has been that way for 50 years.
